A dedicated SST Branch is functioning to manage the referral for cashless  super specialty treatment of our Insured persons (IPs)  & their dependents/ patients  in our empaneled to hospitals (PEH) for the services not currently available in this hospital. Advance payments are issued, and reimbursements made for treatment availed by IP referred in various government hospitals. All these services are carried out strictly in adherence to guidelines issued by Headquarter Office from time to time.  Patients requiring super specialty treatment in the field of Oncology, Onco-surgery, Dialysis, Nephrology, Cardiology, and Neurology & Neurosurgery form the bulk of the referrals.   The department is vigilant and works in close coordination and consultation with Headquarters Office & Directorate (Medical)Delhi.  Certain issues relating to UTI software & ERP were raised by our hospital to DMD & HQ office which were resolved and later, circulated to other ESIC hospitals of Delhi NCR for implementation.  Additionally, all issues raised by PEH are closely looked into and necessary active remedial measures are taken without delay.

The Referral Cell of this Hospital has made unrelenting efforts to ensure that the process of referral is streamlined. The implementation of the procedures and rules introduced during the previous years was further strengthened. A six-member referral committee was constituted such that at least three members are present daily to check documents, counsel patients and facilitate referral as per their convenience. It is also pertinent to mention that the IPs are also referred to other ESIC hospitals in Delhi & NCR for Laboratory, Radiological and other treatments wherever available and, this has also helped in bringing down the number of referrals. 

The secondary referral has been reduced barring isolated instances where ventilator support is required in the absence of vacant ventilators & under intimation to Headquarter Office.
